Introduction
Dissington Hall is a private, family-run Georgian mansion. It was built 1794-1797 by the Admiral Lord Collingwood's cousin Edward, it always has been (and remains, in part) a private home. The present use of the Hall for receptions, marriages, dinners and day-conferences began in April 1992 and has been a great success with bookings being made at least a year in advance. Your guests will enjoy attentive, friendly service from our highly experienced staff allowing the bridal party to relax and treat Dissington as their home for the day.
Most receptions involve arrival drinks in the Library or, in the summer, on the Terrace and East lawn. This is followed by the wedding party welcoming the guests to a seated meal for between 40 and 160 guests, with both hot and cold courses served by our friendly staff. The food is of the highest quality and menus can be tailored to suit your needs, including imaginative choices devised for your vegetarian or special-diet guests. We have an excellent selection of wines and we also offer good value drinks packages at a range of fixed prices.
The day-time reception blends into an enjoyable evening function with finger buffet meals for up to 200 guests, dancing and a late licence allowing your function to end at around midnight. The booking of a good dance-band, disco, or ceilidh band with caller, can be left to us or arranged by yourselves.
